Felipe Ossio is a Civil Constructor and researcher specialized in circular economy and sustainability in the built environment. He holds a PhD in Architecture, Architectural Engineering and Urban Planning (Art of Building and Urbanism) from the Université catholique de Louvain (Belgium) and a Civil Construction degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
His research focuses on the transition of the construction sector towards circular economy principles, with particular emphasis on building adaptability, reversible building design, material reuse, resource efficiency, and the development of regulatory frameworks that support circular construction practices. His work seeks to contribute to a more sustainable and resilient built environment through the integration of technical, environmental, and policy perspectives. He has led and participated in research projects on circular construction, building sustainability, and the assessment of circularity strategies in buildings and infrastructure.
His broader research interests include construction innovation, productivity, sustainable infrastructure, public policy related to the built environment, and construction education, particularly the relationship between higher education and industry needs, professional competencies, and workforce development in the construction sector.
